The Table: a Lutheran Episcopal ministry at Towson
Tuesday Night Gatherings
Around a meal cooked by our congregational partners, we gather on Tuesday nights for discussion, prayer, and a time to share the moments God has shown up in our lives.
Bible studies/small groups
Every semester we have several small group Bible studies during the week. We’ve studied particular biblical books, the life of Jesus, the Holy Spirit- whatever students are interested in.
Worship
Our two partner congregations, Ascension Lutheran and Trinity Episcopal, warmly welcome our students to join them for worship- Sunday mornings or Sunday evening at 5pm. We also have on-campus worship for special days, such as All Saints Day, Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday.
Service work
Our ministry helped create and actively supports FoodShare, the on-campus food pantry. We also write letters to those incarcerated to support the St. Dysmas Lutheran congregation, among other efforts. Every Spring, we also sponsor the Move-Out Collection, sorting goods that students get rid of to share with neighbors in need.
Retreats
Every September we gather with other Lutheran campus ministries in the area for a beach retreat in Ocean City.
Service trips
Spring Break trips allow us to learn from and serve alongside our neighbors. We’ve learned from the Lumbee in North Carolina while supporting flood relief, taken a Civil rights Pilgrimage to Selma, Birmingham and Montgomery and learn about refugee resettlement in Jacksonville, FL.
